The Queensland bad boy (yes, cricket has bad boys) was sent home from England by Australian cricket officials for multiple violations of team rules. Symonds was denied his 27th “baggy green” last month when he was left off the team that will compete for the Ashes in England in July, but was given a spot on Australia’s World Twenty20 squad.

Symonds is an interesting and exciting character in a sport not necessarily known for its personalities. He is a fantastic cricketer but has battled discipline and drinking problems for years now. It will be unfortunate if his career ends because of an inability to get his act together.
